CAP AND GOWN

Each degree candidate should arrange to obtain the official University cap and gown well in advance of the commencement ceremony. The costs for the caps and gowns vary according to the academic degree conferred.

Bachelor’s and master’s students who complete an Application for Degree for the May 2012 graduation must submit their cap and gown size information to Herff Jones  by March 27, 2012.  Regalia will be delivered to the SHSU University Bookstore for pick up beginning April 30, 2012.

Degree candidates must make sure all items are included with the cap and gown order, including tassels, prior to the date of commencement.

The traditional black cap and gown is required to participate in the commencement ceremony.

A tassel should also be purchased ahead of time.  Students receiving their master's and doctoral degrees must purchase the appropriate hood in order to participate in the commencement ceremony.
