FIRST SUMMER PART OF TERM

April 2014
   Advance Registration begins.
May 12
MONDAY:
  • Mini-session first class day.
  • Last day to drop for mini-session without a Q and receive 100% refund (this does not apply if only enrolled in one course).
May 23
FRIDAY:
  • Submit draft thesis/dissertation to Library for format and style review.
  • Last class day for mini-session.
  • Last day to Q drop or resign for mini-session(only enrolled in one course - see notes below).
May 26
MONDAY:
 University holiday.
May 27
MONDAY:
 Mini-session finals.
May 28
WEDNESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Mini-session grades due by 4pm.
  • Summer registration closes @ 4pm.
May 29
THURSDAY:
  • First class day for first summer session.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes.
  • Summer late registration opens @ noon.
May 30
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
  • Classes meet
June 3
TUESDAY:
  • Fourth Class Day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund (This does not apply to dropping your only course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
  • Degree Applications to be filed in Registrar's Office by students graduating August 2013. How To Apply

FRIDAY:

FRIDAY:
  • Classes meet.
  • Last day to complete a public defense of the thesis/dissertation.
  • Last day to drop one-hour science labs.

THURSDAY:
 One-hour science lab finals begin.
June 25
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last Class Day
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).
June 26
THURSDAY:
 Final examinations.
June 27
FRIDAY:
 Residence halls close at 12:00 Noon.
June 30
MONDAY:
12:00 Noon  Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office

RESIGNATION NOTE:

Students may resign with a "W" grade from the 13th class day until the deadline posted in the academic calendar. However, if a final exam has been given for any course, you will NOT be permitted to resign.

 

SECOND SUMMER PART OF TERM


April 2014
Advance Registration begins.
July 1
TUESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students.
July 2
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last day to submit complete, defended, and signed thesis/dissertation to the appropriate academic dean's office.
  • First Summer Session ends.
  • First class day
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes.
July 3
THURSDAY:
Last day to register and process schedule changes.
July 4
FRIDAY:
University Holiday
July 7
MONDAY:

Last day to submit final thesis/dissertation (defended and signed) and Route Sheet to the Director of the Library.
July 8
TUESDAY:
  • Fourth class day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund (This does not apply to dropping your only course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
July 11
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to make all final copies of thesis/dissertation and submit to the NGL for binding.
  • Last day to submit Route Sheet to the Dean of Graduate Studies.
  • Classes meet.
July 18
FRIDAY:
Classes meet.
July 25
FRIDAY:
Last day to drop one-hour science labs.
July 28
MONDAY:
One-hour science lab finals begin.
July 30
THURSDAY:
  • Last Class Day.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).
July 31
THURSDAY:
 Final Examinations.
August 1
FRIDAY:
 Residence halls close at 6:00 P.M.
August 2
SATURDAY
Commencement, Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
August 4
MONDAY:
  • 12:00 Noon. Deadline for filing grades with the Registar's office.
  • Second summer session ends.
