FIRST SUMMER PART OF TERM

April 2013
  Advance Registration begins - refer to Schedule of Classes for details.
May 13
MONDAY:
  • First class day for mini session.
  • Last day to drop for mini session without a "Q" and receive 100% refund. (This does not apply if only enrolled in one course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
May 24
FRIDAY:
  • Submit draft thesis/dissertation to Library for format and style review.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses for mini session. (SEE NOTES BELOW).
May 27
MONDAY:
University Holiday.
May 28
TUESDAY:
Final examinations for mini session.
May 29
WEDNESDAY:
  • Residence halls open for occupancy, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students - refer to Schedule of Classes for details.
  • 4:00 PM Deadline for filing mini session grades with Registrar's Office.
May 30
THURSDAY:
  • First class day.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Schedule of Classes for details and deadlines.
  • Evening classes begin.
May 31
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to register and to process schedule changes.
  • Classes meet.
June 4
TUESDAY:
  • Degree Applications to be filed in Registrar's Office by students graduating August 2013. How To Apply
  • Fourth Class Day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund. (This does not apply if only enrolled in one course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
June 7
FRIDAY:
Classes meet.
June 14
FRIDAY:
Classes meet.
June 21
FRIDAY:
  • Classes meet.
  • Last day to complete a public defense of the thesis/dissertation.
June 26
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last Class Day
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).
June 27
THURSDAY:
Final examinations.
June 28
FRIDAY:
Residence halls close at 12:00 Noon.
July 1
MONDAY:
12:00 Noon  Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office

RESIGNATION NOTE:

Students may resign with a “W” grade from the 5th class day through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion.

DROP NOTE:

Courses may be dropped without a grade of "F" through the last class day, but prior to any final exams being taken or course completion. Students wishing to drop courses after the term’s online drop deadline must submit a drop request form, signed by the professor, to the Registrar’s Office. To process a "Q" drop after the online drop closes, students must come to the Registrar's Office, Estill Building Rm. 331 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No schedule changes may be made after the deadline specified in the Academic Calendar.

 

 

SECOND SUMMER PART OF TERM

TUESDAY:

  • Registration for undergraduate and graduate students - refer to Schedule of Classes for details.
July 3
WEDNESDAY:
  • Last day to submit complete, defended, and signed thesis/dissertation to the appropriate academic dean's office.
  • First Summer Session ends.
July 4
THURSDAY:
University Holiday.
July 5
FRIDAY:
  • First class day.
  • Late Registration. Process class schedule changes. Refer to the Schedule of Classes for details and deadlines.
  • Evening classes begin.
July 8
MONDAY:
Last day to register and process schedule changes.
July 10
WEDNESDAY:
  • Fourth class day.
  • Last day to drop without a "Q" and receive 100% refund. (This does not apply if only enrolled in one course - see resignation policy in Schedule of Classes).
  • Last day to submit final thesis/dissertation (defended and signed) and Route Sheet to the Director of the Library.
July 12
FRIDAY:
  • Last day to make all final copies of thesis/dissertation and submit to the NGL for binding.
  • Last day to submit Route Sheet to the Dean of Graduate Studies.
  • Classes meet.
July 19
FRIDAY:
Classes meet.
July 26
FRIDAY:

August 1
THURSDAY:
  • Last Class Day.
  • Last day to resign and drop courses (SEE NOTES BELOW).
August 2
FRIDAY:
  • Final Examinations.
  • Residence halls close at 6:00 P.M.
August 3
SATURDAY:
Commencement, Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
August 5
MONDAY:
  • 12:00 Noon Deadline for filing grades with the Registrar's Office.
