The Department of Recreational Sports
HOWDY and WELCOME,
On behalf of our respective universities, we'd like to extend this invitation to join us for the 2009 Texas Outdoor Leadership Conference, where we will examine ways to GREEN IT UP! TOLC is an opportunity for students and university outdoor professionals alike to connect, learn, share information and above all... have fun. This year's conference will feature many of the events that have made past TOLCs so successful: great workshops, an adventure film festival, Saturday night's Dutch oven cook-off, music, a full slate of outdoor activities and an adventure race.
Early registration begins now and ends on November 14th, with regular registration ending on January 1st, so register early and save yourself some green. Registration Forms are available in the Forms section at the bottom of this page.
We look forward to having you visit as we join together to learn, play, socialize and green it up!
Your hosts,
Jason Kurten Michael Maningas Steve Thompson

A conference is only successful if people are willing to share their skills and knowledge with one another. If you are an undergrad, graduate student or professional staff member, we highly encourage you to fill out a "Presenter Form" and submit it to our proposal review committee. With out you... there is no TOLC.

UNIVERSITY CAMP
This year's TOLC will take place at the Sam Houston State University Camp. University Camp is a 345 acre facility located in Riverside, Texas among the lakes and forests of East Texas. It provides ample opportunities for paddling, biking, birding, hiking, and trail running. The camp is centered around a large indoor pavilion and meeting area that will serve as the base for the conference. There are bathrooms at University Camp, but as of yet there are no accomodations, so make sure you bring your tent and sleeping bags. The camp is located about 15 minutes Northeast of Huntsville, Texas, not very far from I-45. For directions to the camp please click on the link below in our Forms section.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.
