Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rental
The Sam Houston State University Outdoor Recreation program can assist in outfitting you for your own adventures. We offer a wide variety of personal, and group equipment at very reasonable rates. If you are interested in reserving, or renting equipment through the Outdoor Recreation program, please contact us, or stop by the Recreational Sports facility.

Items may be picked up or returned from 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday, at the Climbing Center Desk.
- Students, Faculty, and Staff may check out equipment. Non-University affiliates must have approval before renting equipment.
- A late charge will be assessed on all equipment that is returned late.
- All equipment must be clean and dry before returning. ($5.00 fee for each wet or dirty item returned.)
- Daily rates are from the time of checkout until closing on the following day.
- Weekend rates are from checkout on Friday until 6:00 p.m. the following Monday.
- Reservations must be made at the climbing center desk.
- Renters are responsible for any damage to rented items up to the full replacement value of the item.
- Please allow 2-3 weeks for the processing of refunds.
Sam Houston State University assumes no responsibility for accidents or injuries resulting from the use of rented equipment.
