Andrea

Andrea is a senior undergraduate Kinesiology major with a minor in Health. Andrea went to Arizona State University her freshman and sophomore years, where she got her "Learn to Teach" certification. Her emphasis was on hiking trails outdoors in a group setting. Once she moved back to Texas, she obtained her "Learn to Lead" certification at Sam Houston State University, and currently teaches cycling classes. Andrea loves individual sports such as swimming, cycling, and hiking, and loves sharing it with others in a group setting where we can learn and reach success together. "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."


Ashley

Ashley is an undergraduate Dietetics major. She has been active her entire life and in February 2010, she began her fitness career as a personal trainer. After taking group fitness classes over the summer of 2011, she fell in love with them. Ashley lives by the following quote, "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." - Jim Ryan


Callye

Callye is an undergraduate Kinesiology major with minors in education and history. Callye began teaching group exercise in June 2009. She can be found teaching indoor cycling, pilates, and strength classes at SHSU Rec. Sports. Callye loves to help people succeed in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle. She always has a smile on her face and she loves meeting new people in her classes!

George

George is an undergraduate Musical Theatre major with an emphasis in dance. George began teaching as a Pilates instructor, saving up to get his Zumba Fitness certification. After receiving his certification, he now teaches a wide range of formats including his current Zumba and Core classes. George is currently pursuing an AFAA certification. George loves smiles and encourages everyone to participate in his class if they want a great workout in a fun-filled atmosphere. “It’s not the size of the hips, it’s the motion of the ocean… in your heart!”


Hannah

Hannah is an undergraduate Music major with a minor in education. Hannah began taking group fitness classes as a freshman through the rec and by the end of the year was an instructor. She can be found teaching cycling and strength core classes. Currently, Hannah is a certified group fitness instructor and hopes to soon pursue her personal training certification. She loves her Bible study, music, and the students that come and work hard in her classes. She believes that there is something for everyone to enjoy and benefit from by participating in group fitness.


Jilleen

Jilleen is currently working on her Elementary Education EC-6th Generalist degree. She is hoping to teach first or second grade because she loves children and helping others. She has just recently began teaching group fitness as a step instructor and is excited to lean other formats including CycleFit and Strength. She believes it is so important to find exercise that is enjoyable and motivating. Jileen wants to get to know her participants and make her classes fun so come check out her awesome Step Core class!


Katie

Katie is a Music Education major. She started taking group fitness classes at the RSC her freshman year, and ended up falling in love with yoga. She then decided to get her certification in yoga, and is now teaching. She hopes to give everyone much inspiration, smiles, and great benefits from her classes!


Kelly

From Sugar Land, Texas, Kelly is majoring in Education with a minor in Special Education. She loves and always takes pride in the quality of her group fitness classes and tries to make each one different and unique. Her main goal is to inspire and challenge others and lives by this quote, “One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.” :)


Kristyn

Kristyn is a Psychology major and legal studies minor. After graduation she hopes to pursue a career in forensic psychology or law. In her spare time she loves to work out and spend time with her friends. She took her first Zumba class in December 2010 and has been in love ever since. Kristyn got her B1 certification in March and started teaching classes right after. She loves the energy and fun that's involved in Zumba classes and lives by the quote "it works if you work it!"


Stephen

Stephen is a Music Education major here at Sam Houston State. He plays the trumpet in many different ensembles and is very passionate about his field of study. Aside from his musical endeavors, Stephen started attending group fitness classes his sophomore year and enjoyed the encouragement that his fitness instructors gave him. Wanting to help spread the encouragement that was given to him, Stephen was hired as a group fitness instructor. He is a part of Team Active Body and is currently pursuing an AFAA certification. Stephen is excited to bring the energy and enthusiasm to his classes and encourages anyone, no matter what shape or size, to come and give it a try! “Do your best and forget the rest.” –Tony Horton


Tara

 

Tara is an undergraduate Musical Theatre major. Tara is a Certified Turbo Kick instructor and currently leads Cardio Kick at SHSU Recreational Sports. She loves sand volleyball, playing piano and making fitness a group experience. Her students motivate her to work hard through their perseverance and tenacity in every class. Cardio Kick is a great way to get loose, have fun, and punch out any of that college stress.
