Psychology defined is the science of behavior and mental processes. As a discipline, psychology covers a broad field including the interrelationships between brain, environment, and behavior. The undergraduate degree in psychology at SHSU is a bachelor of science degree oriented toward admission to graduate school and is useful for obtaining employment in such areas as human resources, community relations, human services, correctional institutions, and rehabilitation facilities among others. Students interested in pursuing a master of arts degree in psychology at SHSU may choose from the areas of clinical, school, or general psychology. The requirements for acceptance into our masters' programs are detailed in a printable brochure found at the M.A. Programs link provided at the top of this page. Program descriptions are available at each specific program link. Students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology will find the description, requirements, and other relevant information by clicking the link to the Ph.D. program located at the top of this page.
