Advising for New and/or Transfer Students:

Academic advisors are currently available through the Sam Center for transfer students and students who have not yet declared psychology as their major. Please call 936/294-4444 (toll-free 1-866-364-5211) for an appointment.

You want to file your degree plan with Psychology, GREAT!

Please review the following criteria, then click the link to request an appointment:

1. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in your major, minor, and overall.

2. Must have earned 60 credit hours as of the current semester.

3. Must have all transfer courses on your SHSU transcript.

4. Must have decided on a Minor.

NOTE:  After a review of your class schedule, an appointment time will be sent to the email address provided.

 

The normal time lapse for processing completed paperwork is 2-3 weeks after meeting with a psychology degree plan advisor. (This time lapse is usually extended when the Registrar's Office is processing graduating senior clearances.)
