Financial Awards

Sam Houston State University offers several types of financial awards to eligible graduate students. The amount may vary from year to year.  These include:

  • Scholarships:

Various scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, subject to availability of funds and eligibility. Scholarship recipients often qualify for in-state tuition rates.

Contact the Office of Scholarships, 936/294-1672, for information about little-known scholarship programs.

  • Assistant Instructorships:

The Department of Psychology and Philosophy is occasionally able to reward teaching assistantships to students who have completed at least 18 hours of graduate study.

Register your interest in such a position by completing an application form available from the Coordinator of Master's Studies.

  • Financial Awards through the University Financial Aid Office:

Various sources of support are available through the Financial Aid Office.
These include:
