University Visitor Center
PROJECT COST - $900,000 General Use Fee Fund Balance A stand alone visitor center provides a prominent and welcoming location for all of our visitors to stop in and find out more about our University or get directions to a specific location on campus. It enhances our recruiting and public relations efforts. Various sites have been considered, but the current site now under review would be built into the hill of the southwest corner by the Estill Building. That is a prominent location, close to the main campus entrance, and in close proximity to most of the support services from which it will draw. The Visitor Center will provide a friendly gateway into the services prospective students need to enroll at Sam Houston State; Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life and more. Tours will start from the Visitor Center. It will be a place where we will have information about our programs; personal, friendly service and the ability to showcase Sam Houston State University through the use of technology. Construction is not expected to be completed until November 2004. ARCHITECT - HUITT-ZOLLARS, INC., HOUSTON, TEXAS |
