  • Computing Labor & Material Charges for Billing Purposes
  • Invoicing Various Departments for Requested Work

THE WORK REQUEST PROCESS

EMERGENCY:  When a request for service is received at the Physical Plant that involves a threat to life, property, or health, the Forepersons or Technicians are alerted by radio or phone immediately.

ROUTINE: ALL non-emergency requests must be routed thru the online FAMIS self-serve form.  Neither written, faxed nor email requests will be accepted.

All requests involving temperature control, plumbing problems, and security issues (broken locks, broken windows, etc.) are given out the same day as received. When non-emergency requests are received in the Physical Plant Office, a work order is created and the information is passed on to the appropriate shop foreperson. The foreperson then schedules and assigns the requests to individual technicians in that shop.
