Dr. Carroll's research interests are broadly comparative, but tend to focus on Britain and the European Union. He has delivered numerous papers on parties and policy performance in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, local government in Britain, and Sino-Japanese relations. He has contributed chapters to edited works on American politics and the American presidency, and has published in scholarly journals on the subject of British local government. He is a history documentary and book junkie, and loves movies, music, travel, and sports.
