Criminal justice professor Raymond Teske was recently interviewed by the Dallas Morning News for an article that discusses the declining murder rates in the city. Teske attributes decreasing figures to the stiffening of the state's sentencing guidelines. In addition, an Associated Press story that discusses Teske's research, which concluded that the death penalty is a homicide deterrent, was featured in the Houston Chronicle.
Brian Domitrovic, assistant professor of history, was part of a panel that discussed the decline of the dollar and how to fix it on the Oct. 22 episode of CNBC's The Kudlow Report. Following the segment, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who also appeared on the show, plugged Domitrovic's book Econoclasts. In addition, he was one of the experts who discussed the gross domestic product in a recent Public Radio International story.
