James Paster earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, with a concentration in Aesthetic Studies. He has a Master's Degree in Photography from the Institute of Design in Chicago and a Bachelor's Degree from Roosevelt University. His photographic work has been exhibited widely at galleries and museums in the southwest including the New Orleans Museum of Art, Austin Museum of Art, the Houston Center for Photography, and Fotofest. He has authored numerous articles on the history and aesthetics of photography.
