Mission Statement "The purpose of this organization shall be to provide support for students, faculty, and staff whose religious beliefs do not fall in the mainstream, to supply information about alternative religions and to act as a voice for the Pagan community on the Sam Houston campus." - The Student Pagan Association Constitution, Article II Throughout the year we will participate or run a couple of events. Check back here often for updates. Events for Fall of 2007 When: September 29, 2007; Noon to Midnight A group of us will be heading down to Houston to show off our pagan pride and to meet some new and exciting people. We're just kind of showing up when we show up, but if you need a ride, please let us know so we can work something out. When: Saturday & Sunday, October 6th & 7th, 2007; 9:00 AM to Dusk Tickets are only $11 per ticket. These tickets are only valid on either October 6th or October 7th. If you wish to purchase tickets through us, you must sing-up and pay for your tickets before October 2, 2007. Otherwise, you're on your own. If you need a ride, let us know. When: Thursday - Sunday, October 18 - 21, 2007; Noon Thursday to Dusk Sunday The Council of Magickal Arts (CMA)holds two festivals a year - Samhain and Beltane. Please visit their site and read all of their information before you decide to go. You must send in your registration form before October 1st, 2007. Admission is $75 for the weekend. You will be camping so be prepared to bring a tent and rough it. You are required to volunteer for at least two hours during the weekend. Unfortunately, most of the officers have other obligations this weekend and will not be able to attend. We will be going to the Beltane Festival in April 2008. Please let me know if you plan to attend even though you will be on your own for this one.
When: Saturday, November 3, 2007; 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM We will hold our own Samhain Festival as we have every year since before I was a member. Hopefully, we won't have a drunk girl crash into an electrical pole and light all the trees on fire this year. We may be camping out if we can find a decent location. If you are interested, please attend our October 30th meeting when we will discuss the details of this event.
When: Friday, November 16, 2007; 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM We try to do this every year, but last year there just wasn't enough interest in it. This is more of a social event that ends in a trip to IHOP or Denny's. We prowl around various haunted locations in town with cameras and tape recorders. Then, we post all our pictures and recordings online for the public to see. Although our 2005 Ghost Hunt resulted in some really neat pictures, we haven't experienced any supernatural encounters.
