Dear Prospective S.H.A.M.O.S. member,
SHAMOS or Sam Houston Association of Medically oriented students is an organization for student seeking to enter future health professions and as an organization we aim to help one another achieve our individual goals by working with pre-professional advisors; as well as prepare our members for their respective careers through shadowing programs with the Huntsville hospitals, CPR and other medical diagnostic courses. In addition, we also give back to our surrounding community through volunteer activities including blood/food/toy drives and build adequate communication and social skills through socials with the biology faculty and other student organizations.
We are truly excited that you have decided to learn more about our student organization. SHAMOS has many networking opportunities that would benefit any pre-professional student planning attending graduate school. We accept anyone regardless of major. Some of the activities we have planned for the fall and spring semesters include and visits to various colleges and medical schools.
We are eager to see you at our next meeting!
Weekly meetings will be held in LDB 207 on Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM.
We look forward to meeting you,
S.H.A.M.O.S. President, Jasmine Smith & Vice President, Jenna Floyd
