Be a part of RHA on the Regional and (Inter)National Level! Join RHA and come to a conference!
RHA is a part of NACURH, the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Inc. We are proud to call the SWACURH region our own, and we have lots of ducky love for our our SWACURH Mascot, Swackdaddy the Duck. Each year RHA attends 2-3 conferences that help keep us connected with other schools across the region, nation, and globe. We also learn about the latest trends in on-campus living, programming, and legislation.
NACURH is considered to be the largest student run organization in the world. It is completely student run, in all of the national and regional positions. It brings together over 400 schools from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Qatar. NACURH promotes living on campus as an integral part of the college experience, and strives to provide resources to help member schools create the ultimate residence hall environment and experience. Each year in May or June, they hold a national (and now international) conference for member schools to attend. This conference provides programming sessions offering leadership, service, diversity, programming, and organizational development. The 2014 NACURH Conference will be held at UW Eau Claire, and you can check out their website here.
SWACURH, or the South West Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls, is a student run organization whose purpose is to provide leadership development opportunities for student leaders and advisors in residence hall systems in the southwest region of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Schools throughout SWACURH and NACURH unite together to share ideas, traits, programming ideas, and leadership tactics with one another which we are then able to implement in our residence halls, lives, and organizations. Each fall, a school hosts the SWACURH Conference for member schools to attend. This conference provides programming sessions offering leadership, service, diversity, programming, and organizational development. The 2013 SWACURH Conference will be held at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. You can learn more about the conference on their website.
