We would like to invite you to become a member of the Non-Traditional Student Organization at SHSU.
An award winning organization here at the university - we have won the Sammy Award three times. There are no fees, no dues and few requirements that you need to meet
in order to become a member. We meet once a month at the LSC in an effort to socialize and discuss special topics
related to non-traditional student needs.
These meetings are open (meaning that you can come and go according to
your schedule) and offer refreshments for each attendee. If you have
your children with you, bring them. The meetings are informal, and we
do not concern ourselves with strict rules about protocol (except
during elections).
What is a non-traditional
student? To be a member of our organization, you must meet the
following criteria: be a member of the student body who is over 25
years old, a parent, married, been out of school for years or just feel
as if you do not fit in with the rest of the college crowd. Do you have
friends who fit this category? Bring them with you! To join our listserv and receive more information through email just visit the NTSO subscription website.
There are approximately 5,000 non-traditional
students on campus. If only 1 out of 100 showed up for our meetings, we
would have a turn out of 50 members each month. We could become one of
the largest and most powerful voices on campus. We deserve to have our
voices heard.
Come to a meeting; let's hear your voice!
Sincerely,
NTSO Officers, Members, and Advisors
