Preamble

Article I, Name
The name of this organization shall be “Lutheran Student Fellowship of Faith Lutheran Church, Huntsville, Texas” and shall be commonly called “LSF.”
Article II, Objectives
The objectives of LSF shall be to emphasize fellowship with God and with other Christians. This shall be accomplished through Bible Study, Christian outreach, recreation, and Christian service.
Article III, Membership
Any Sam Houston State University (SHSU) student shall be eligible to become and remain an active member of LSF.
Article IV, Officers
Section 1- Requirements for Officers
The elected officers of this organization shall be enrolled as students of SHSU and shall maintain a 2.00 grade point average cumulatively or higher.
Section 2 – Officers and Duties
A. President: shall preside over regular and executive meetings, coordinate group activities, and communicate with the officers and advisor on all matters. He/She shall also act as the official representative for any regional meetings of LSF.
B. Vice-president shall assist the president and preside over meetings in the absence of the president.
C. Secretary-Treasurer shall record minutes at all business meetings and maintain all necessary correspondence. He/She shall also pay bills, oversee other monetary transactions including fundraising and social activities, and prepare and maintain regular reports.
D. Other Officers may be established by the organization to meet programmatic needs of its members. These offices may be either elected or appointed offices.
Section 3- Election Process
Elections shall be held at the regular meeting in April, and a simple majority vote will prevail. Newly elected officers will resume responsibility the following academic year. The names of the new officers must be transmitted to the Department of Student Activities of SHSU within three days after the election.
Article V, Meetings
The primary meetings of this organization shall be in September and April of each academic year. Other planning meetings may be held as deemed necessary by the president, faculty advisor, or pastor of Faith Lutheran Church.
Article VI, Reports
At the beginning of each Fall and Spring Semester, this organization shall submit an update report with the names and addresses of its officers and advisor(s). This report shall be submitted to Room 335 of the Lowman Student Center no later than the tenth class day. Changes in officers that occur during the semester must be reported promptly.
Article VII, Amendments
This constitution shall be amended by a majority vote of the membership. A copy of all constitutional changes and amendments should be submitted to the Office of Student Life.

Section 1- Requirements for Officers
The elected officers of this organization shall be enrolled as students of SHSU and shall maintain a 2.50 grade point average cumulatively or higher. The elected officers shall also be active members of LSF and be a member of a Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod congregation. Officers shall be admitted with the approval of the current senior pastor of Faith Lutheran Church.

A. Secretary shall record minutes at all business meetings and maintain all necessary correspondence.
B. Treasurer shall pay bills, oversee other monetary transactions including fundraising and social activities, and prepare and maintain regular reports.
C. Other Officers may be established by the organization to meet programmatic needs of its members. These offices may be either elected or appointed offices.
Section 3- Election Process
Elections shall be held at the regular meeting in February, and a simple majority vote will prevail. Newly elected officers will begin their training which will take place the first Tuesday in March through May 1st of the Spring semester. These officers will resume full responsibility as of May 1st. The names of the new officers must be transmitted to the Department of Student Activities of SHSU within three days after the election.

The primary business meetings of this organization shall be in September and April of each academic year and will include the President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, faculty advisor, and senior pastor of Faith Lutheran Church. Other planning meetings may be held as deemed necessary by the president, faculty advisor, or pastor of Faith Lutheran Church.
