Washington, DC: Traditionally students take one trip per semester to the nation's capital. This tradition began in 2005, when twenty SHSU students flew to DC to attend the Presidential inauguration. Since then, the students have returned to see the monuments, museums, and other historical sites. They've also met with their elected officials, and had fun along the way.

Other Trips: In addition to a DC trip, students typically embark on an in-state trip. In the past, students have visited Austin and Dallas, often to attend seminars sponsored by the New Politics Forum. On these trips, students learn from practitioners in the field of Political Science, attend workshops, and seminars, while also visiting local sites of interest.
