Drag Show Update
Things have really started getting under way...
This week and next week are very important because we're working on a lot of things. Mainly this week is geared toward setting up tables in the mall area (we need people for that) and also flyers (we need your ideas) so that we can advertise the Drag Show.
if you have ideas, feel free to email them to me at vicepres@stonewallkats.org or to any of our officers so that we can take them into consideration. I would like to thank Katrina, David, George, Stevy, and myself for making some posters and working on flyers for the show. We're really looking forward to what lies in store for us.
oh yea...we have a venue!!! Dr. Gratz, our advisor, was gracious enough to offer the Dance Theatre for our show. It's a small beginning, but if i can be so bold as to quote something from the Bible..."don't despise the day of small beginnings" which i think is wise.
Our goal this week and next is to prepare for the auditions (March 8th and 9th) and then to get things together for who is in the show, what they are doing as a performance piece, how we can help with costumes, makeup etc. and then putting on a top notch Drag Show. Drag Show Committee meetings are after the regular Stonewall Kats meetings on Wednesdays, usually from about 8pm until 8:30pm and downstairs in the main LSC lobby in the comfy couches.

Global AIDS Day Table
Hey guys,
So things are really interesting this week. There's a table that's being set up tomorrow (Wednesday) for Global AIDS Day. So we really need people to respond to that. Get a hold of CJ on socialdirector@stonewallkats.org and let him know if you can help out at the table from 11-pm. Please help out as much as you can because this is a great opportunity for us to get our face out and stuff. Make sure you bring a sweater because it's a bit nippy outside.
Our guest speaker is Jeremy Baker for the meeting and he will be talking about his dealings with the HIV virus and how it's affected his life. Prepare some questions for him, ask him about his life, he's very open and not easily offended, so it should be a good time. Please Please PLEASE treat him with respect and listen to what he has to say because it's very important and will help us educate people.
Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays!!! I had a great time eating, and continue to do so to this day.
Get a hold of me if you need anything.

Welcome
Sexuality is a hard concept to grasp when it is new or hard to accept. Stonewall Kats was organized by a group of people with a common goal... the acceptance of diversity within all people. We are the GBLTS (Gay Bisexual Lesbian Transgendered Straight) chapter of Sam Houston State University. We promote diversity, acceptance, and we believe that everyone has a right to what they feel and what they believe and what they are. This organization takes pride in helping members and guests understand their sexuality by being open to listen to and discuss problems, holding group functions, and arranging topic speakers.
Stonewall Kats meets every week in the fall and spring semesters. We discuss a wide range of topics, from things like planning social gatherings to social issues, and lots of random topics. We also listen to any problems or concerns someone may have (be it voiced or anonymous) in every meeting.
To learn more, read "About Us" or email us with your questions.
