KatCents Financial Scholars - A new service the Student Money Management Center is providing is KatCents Financial Scholars. KatCents is an interactive and fun way for students to learn real world financial concepts online. It will allow students to move quickly through such topics as saving and budgeting money, understanding credit cards and managing debt, the Federal Reserve and banking, taxes and insurance, and consumer fraud protection. There are a total of nine learning modules which students will complete, including a brief pre- and post-quiz for each module. This is to help determine how much they learned from the modules.

Registration for Students:

1. Go to EverFi and enter your email address in the sign up box. Click on "I am a Student".
2. Enter the class code: a43e2477
3. Fill in all the required fields. Choose a unique User ID and Password. Make sure you write it down! If you forget your user name or password, call Katie at 936.294.1615 and she will look up your user name and/or reset your password.

Once you have logged into your account:

1. Click on Curriculum to access the Overview and 9 Learning Modules. EverFi certification is earned by successfully completing all 9 modules.
2. The Overview must be completed first before moving forward.
3. We recommend using an Ethernet connection instead of a wireless connection.

Operating Tips:

1. Sound/Headphones are required
2. When you are done working, hit the EXIT button on the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
3. It typically takes 1-5 minutes for an entire module to download. While the modules are pre-loading, make sure no other applications are running like iTunes, video games, etc.
4. If you forget your user name or password, call Katie at 936.294.1615 and she will look up your user name and/or reset your password.

To Receive Project CONNECT Credit:

1. Complete all 9 Learning Modules (you don't have to complete all 9 modules in one sitting!)
2. You do not need to turn in your certificate of completion as long as you entered the Project CONNECT class code above! Katie can log onto the website and see who in the class has completed the program. If you used a different class code, please print out the certificate and bring it to Katie in TEC 339.
