About the Program
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students is a two-day workshop that empowers students to succeed by discovering their personal mission, setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and teaming with others. This motivating workshop, designed specifically for college students, is a life-changing experience that will have a lasting impact, extending to post-college successes.
The certified facilitator will lead through instruction, multimedia, and activities, providing students with a comfortable forum in which to reflect individually, apply the content, and get to know each other.
This workshop teaches students how to:
• Balance all aspects of college life
• Set habits that lead to success
• Focus on things within their control
• Develop and live by their Personal Mission Statement®
• Set goals and prioritize their activities
• Increase influence in key relationships
• Commit to self-improvement and renewal
Part I: Thursday, November 7
Part II: Friday, November 8

Participants must attend BOTH parts to receive a certificate of completion.
Priority will be given to the first 20 students who register. Once your registration is confirmed, you are expected to attend the both days to receive a certificate of completion. If you do not attend both days of the workshop, consequences may include but are not limited to, reimbursement for the cost of program materials and staffing. Do not miss the opportunity to attend this free workshop; equivalent corporate trainings can cost up to $2,000.

Do I have to register to attend the workshop?
Yes. You must register in order to attend. Registration forms are available from the Center for Leadership & Service, Lowman Student Center, Suite 324a or by clicking the link above.
Do I have to be a student to register?
Yes. You must be currently enrolled at Sam Houston State University.
How much does it cost to attend the seminar?
The seminar is FREE to currently enrolled SHSU students.
What should I do if I register and then realize I cannot attend?
You should e-mail or call the Center for Leadership and Service in advance to notify us that you will not be in attendance. Non-attendance with our prior notice may result in student account charges for program supplies cost incurred.
NOTE: You must attend both days of the workshop to be certified for completion.
