To honor individuals who have served in our armed forces and provide space for the preservation of military memorabilia, artifacts and the history of past wars. To provide educational and inspiration for children and adults concerning our patriotic heritage and the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms.
Volunteer Opportunities: Help to greet visitors as they come into the museum, conduct tours once trained, collect admission fees, answer the phone, filing and archiving.

It is our desire to provide our community the opportunity for personal growth and achievement in an atmosphere of mutual respect, support and enjoyment while promoting theatrical arts in our community.
Volunteer Opportunities: Help by acting, doing lights, sound and props, phone calls, costumes, cleaning, ushering and flyer distribution. Other duties may be assigned.

Walker County Historical Commission & Gibbs-Powell House Museum

To discover and circulate information pertinent to the historical identity of Walker County, Texas, such as placement of state historical markers. To cooperate with other people, groups, organizations and agencies in preserving the heritage and history of Texas. To operate a County Museum in the historic Gibbs-Powell House portraying Huntsville life in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Volunteer Opportunities: Help with the Gibbs-Powell House docents, maintenance and special events assistance. Assist with historical surveys, cataloging and maintenance of historical records. Assist with maintenance of state historical markers. Service as guides for tours of the Oakwood Cemetery.
Volunteer Requirements: Interview and Orientation/Training.
