Here are your tentative schedules for summer band and our marching events this season. Be sure to check back here often for the most up-to-date information

Summer Band Materials

 

Proper Marching Band Attire:

  1. Loose fitting tee shirt or tank top
  2. Shorts-athletic shorts preferred. Jeans are not allowed.
  3. Lace-up athletic shoes with ankle support. There can be unexpected holes in the field-wear sturdy shoes!
  4. SUNSCREEN! You will burn if you don't wear it.
  5. The music building can get cold. You may want to bring a light jacket for indoor rehearsals.
  6. Hats are allowed on the field, but not in full band indoor rehearsals

Your Instrument!:

  1. Make sure you instrument is in good working order
  2. Bring all maintenance supplies including, but not limited to, valve oil, cork grease, drum sticks, cleaning tools, slide lubricant and extra reeds for saxes and clarinets.

Music and Drill:

  1. Bring your music and drill sheets to EVERY rehearsal.
  2. Music will be kept in a flip folder provided to you by the BMB.
  3. ALL member will need to provide a folder for drill. This should be a 1" 3-ring binder with 40 clear sheet protectors. Bring it to every rehearsal

 

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

1. SUMMER BAND BEGINS SUNDAY, AUGUST 15

2. PERCUSSION/GUARD CAMP BEGINS THURSDAY, AUGUST 12

3. Early Dorm Move-in will take place Sunday, August 15 from 2:00-4:00 PM

4. EACH MEMEBER MUST BRING A 1-INCH, 3-RING BINDER WITH 40 PLASTIC PAGE PROTECTORS.

5. THESE ARE THE CORRECT FALL REHEARSAL TIMES
Monday, 6:30-9:00 PM at Bowers Stadium
Tuesday/Thursday, 4:00-6:00 PM at Pritchett Field

2009 Drum Majors Announced

Congratulations to Nic Alaggio, Casey Salinas and Irving Ray, the BMB's Drum Majors for the 2009 season.

Nic is a senior Music Education major.  He plays trumpet and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Richardson. He is a veteran member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. This will be Nic's second year as drum major for the Bearkat Marching Band

Casey will be a junior Music Education major.  He plays saxophone and graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson.  He is a member of The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps.

Irving is a senior Music Education major.  He plays euphonium and graduated from Cy-Falls High School in Houston.  He is a veteran member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. 

 

 

 

Band Banquet Date Announced
 Summer Band Info

Summer Band for all BMB members is scheduled for August 15.  A detailed schedule is available here.  Make sure you have completed the Membership Information Form so we have your most current contact information.

Percussion and Guard -- Summer Audition camp will be held on August 12-15.

If you have not already registered for the BMB, please do so ASAP.  If you are an entering freshman, you will need to enroll in ENS 116 once advised (this usually occurs during summer orientation).  Returning members enroll in either ENS 116 or ENS 316 -- as soon as possible.
