Delta Numbers History
Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God's will is---his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Romans 12:2
On April 9, 1990 , Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. was approved as a registered student organization of the University of Texas campus at Austin. The first charter line consisted of nine ladies during the spring of 1991. In the spring of 1992 a new chapter was chartered at Prairie View A&M. In the fall of 1994, Texas A&M chartered a line, and finally
in the fall of 1997 the Delta Numbers Chapter at Sam Houston State University was chartered by eleven women.
The spring
of 2005 was a very difficult year for Stacie Jones God removed many people from her life in order to get closer to God. It was during this time Stacie decided to live unashamed for Christ. She spoke with an old high school friend from Prairie View A&M, Bruce Riley, who was the current
president of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. on that campus. He told her about ALO and that she should consider bringing
it back to Sam Houston. Stacie thought about it long and hard. She was not certain on her decision when she decided to try to
contact nationals on inquiring information on how to start a chapter on her campus. She believed that if it was in God's will then He would put the pieces together. She did not get a reply back from nationals until towards the end of the semester. They told her she will need at least five girls who are interested to start the organization and to plan an interest meeting for that same semester. Stacie worked diligently on these efforts. She
asked people such as LaTiffany Coleman and Nirvana Philip to consider joining this particular organization, and the interest meeting had a great turnout.
In the summer of 2005 the Delta Numbers Chapter got re-chartered by six beautiful women of God: LaTiffany Coleman (Soror M.U.T.T.I-Motherly, Understanding, Tenderhearted, Trustworthy,Inspiration), April Hodge (Soror Creators Protégé), Katina Johnson (Soror Free Spirit), Stacie Jones-Ellis (Soror Virtue), Bianca Jackson
(Soror Spiritual Beauty), and Nirvana Philip (Soror Radiance). They were the first summer line to ever cross the sorority.
