Angelique is currently a senior at Sam Houston State University pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English. During her years at Sam, Angelique was the treasurer for the Fade to Black Dance Ensemble, and anchor for the Huntsville Channel 7 news team. She joined Alpha Kappa Alpha in the Fall of 2006 and since, she has held several office positions including secretary, and vice-president. Upon her graduation in May 2009, Angelique hopes to become a leading news anchor for a major network television station. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones. One of her favorite quotes is, "When going through difficult times, don't see it as a curse, but as a blessing that you will grow stronger and become a better individual in the end."

Andrea entered Sam as a freshman in the fall of 2007. She is apart of organizations such as Program Council and NAACP. Andrea has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated since spring 2008. During her time in the chapter she has served as the secretary and now the vice president. Andrea plans to graduate Sam May 2011 with a degree in marketing. After working in the marketing department at a major corporation for two years she will receive her MBA. Andrea has the hope of owning her own business. Andrea takes pleasure in spending time with her friends and family. She paints and goes shopping in her free time and loves sushi and candy with a passion.

Gabrielle is a 19 year old junior here at Sam Houston State University, who currently serves as secretary and historian for the Theta Epsilon chapter. She is from the Dallas area by way of Brooklyn, New York. She is working towards a Bachelors of Science under Criminal Justice along with a minor in Chemistry. Gabrielle plans to graduate in May of 2010 to then begin a career in the Forensics Investigation area of Criminal Justice. So far while attending Sam Houston State University Gabrielle has been a member of Program Council as well as Bearkat Crew which is a community service organization. During Gabrielle’s spare time she enjoys visiting the local animal shelter, reading, spending time with family, friends and sorors.

Cheri is a graduating senior at Sam Houston State University majoring in Family and Consumer Science. She is currently the President of Women United, Greater Zion College Ministry's Event Coordinator, Chaplain and Historian for Adopt A Heart, and the correspondence secretary and webmaster for the Theta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Aside from being actively involved at school, her community, and her church, Cheri also enjoys reading inspirational novels, taking road trips, and hanging out with her close family and friends. Cheri is currently applying to graduate school where she plans to pursue a masters degree in counseling. She believes that Jesus Christ is her most valuable life investment.

Jessica Lane Titus is a junior majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is originally from Hockley, Texas and graduated from Waller High School in 2006. She has one older brother, who also attends SHSU. In her free time she enjoys shopping, listening to music, and watching Degrassi. She is also on the Diversity Council and is the Decorations Coordinator for The Diversity Leadership Conference.

Ashley is from Dallas, Texas. She has been a member of Adopt-A-Heart since 2004 and also served as the President of Abstract Book Club. She has done volunteer work for Saturday’s at Sam as well as other various events around Dallas, Texas. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, reading, and traveling. Ashley is very passionate about music and loves to sing. She is currently interning for Music World Entertainment and hopes to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She has a strong belief in the word of God and knows through him, anything is possible. One of her favorite sayings is “When one door closes, God will open another one!” Ashley is now a senior at Sam Houston, and is anticipating her graduation in December 2008.

Tynesha is a senior at SHSU, graduating in May 2009. Through out her college tenure she has been involved with many organizations, such as Freshman Project, SaMentors, NABJ, Bearkat C.R.E.W where she serves as the Vice President and INROADS. Tynesha loves to spend time with her loved ones and work hard to ensure a successful future. Her future goals include helping encourage and inspire young women while continuing to be of service to all mankind.

Tiffanie Jones is currently a sophomore here at Sam Houston State University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Marketing with a minor in Sports Management. After completing her undergraduate studies, Tiffanie plans to further her education, receiving her MBA from the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University, College Station. Tiffanie is a very active student, on and off of campus. She is a proud member of the NAACP and Program Council, as well as a distinguished Smith-Hutson Scholar. She attends Agape Temple A.M.E. Church in Dallas Texas where she’s participated in various ministries. Tiffanie is currently the financial secretary for her chapter. She is also chaplain for the National Pan-Hellenic Council. After finishing her college career, Tiffanie plans to move back to Dallas to follow her dreams. “There’s nothing in this world worth having that is not hard to obtain”.

Melanie is currently a senior at Sam Houston majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. Upon completing her bachelor's, she will be going to graduate school to persue her master's degree in counseling psychology. While here at Sam, aside from being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she has also been a part of Adopt-A-Heart where she served as the public relations chair, a former Sam Mentor, and a member of Psi Chi national honor society in Psychology. Once she is completely done with her education, Melanie plans to obtain a career in counseling psychology. She believes that a strong faith in God along with hard work and dedication will take you anywhere you want to go in life. Throughout her life she has lived by the words: Good, Better, Best; Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!

Micahela is from Tomball, Texas. She has been the graphics coordinator for the First-Year Experience Advisory Council and the New Student Convocation Committee for the past three years, and she has also been a lab assistant for SHSU Computer Services for the past two years. Being a military brat, Micahela has always loved Army life, and feels that the travel opportunities the military has provided to both herself and her family are immeasurable, providing her with a well-rounded outlook on life. She is planning to join the U.S. Air Force as a Visual Information Apprentice Officer upon graduation from college, which will one day lead her to her dream of having her own magazine that targets the growth of African-American women.

In her future, Ashley hopes to become a full time elementary school teacher. Ashley wants to help all children, regardless of their backgrounds, to succeed, for they are our hope for a better tomorrow and our future employers. She is involved in many organizations on campus, and has had an excellent academic career, being on the Dean’s List since her freshman year. She is in Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, and the Fade to Black Dance Ensemble, where she currently holds the executive position of Assistant Director of Publicity. Dana is a non-traditional student who began attending SHSU in Fall 2004. Since her arrival, she has been a very active and involved woman on campus. She has been the vice president and president of Adopt-A-Heart, founded a mentoring program for the young female clients of SAAFE House, created and produced programs such as Diva: Celebrating 50 Years of Black Women in Music and State of the Black Student. One of Dana’s most crowning achievements while attending Sam Houston State was the opportunity to become a member of the Theta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. She plans to graduate in December 2007. Upon graduation, Dana and her daughter Devon are planning to relocate so that Dana can pursue her career of corporate communications. What motivates Dana can be summed up in a quote of Soror Eleanor Roosevelt’s: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Tawanna is esteemed to be a Centennial Ivy by way of becoming a Spring 2008 Refined Illustration of Poise. This 21 year old from Missouri City, Tx. Transferred to SHSU for PVAMU in Fall 2005. At SHSU she has been involved in many organizations such as Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society, the Secretary (06-07) and President (07-08) of Adopt-A-Heart, Abstract Book Club, Women United, SamMentors, and being on the Dean’s list since she began at SHSU. Her central focus in life is to work hard toward the success of all children in all they do.  Her favorite quote to live by is “Live, Laugh, Love”.

Rozanna is a junior at Sam Houston and is majoring in Mass communications with an emphasis in Broadcast journalism with a minor in English. She has been very involved through the years while attending Sam; she is a member of NAACP, Women United, and a national member of NABJ. Rozanna plans to graduate in 2009 and in the future she sees her self as a successful news anchor at a major television station. Rozanna‘s favorite saying is "A man with God is always in the majority."

Jasmine Scott was born and raised in Houston, TX. She is a 21-year-old senior with a Fashion Merchandising major and a General Business minor. She is actively involved in various organizations such as Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, Beautiful Alliance, Black Student Alliance, and the Fashion Merchandising Club. In Fall 2007, she was inducted into the Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society. Jasmine has held profound leadership roles in all of her organizations since her freshman year which include the positions of treasurer, president, secretary, financial secretary, and fundraising chair to name a few. One accomplishment that she has maintained since her first semester was remaining on the Dean’s and President’s List. Jasmine enjoys dancing, music, drawing, shopping, and hanging with family and friends. She is an extremely outgoing, charismatic, and self-driven woman that is determined to excel in all of her endeavors. I have immense aspirations of becoming a successful, well renown fashion designer and motivational speaker upon graduation.

Angela has been involved in various organizations including Soul Lifters Gospel Choir where she is an active member serving as the President for the 2008-2009 school year. She is active with the Office of Student Activities where she works closely with MISS( Mulitcultural International Student Services). She is a executive officer of SaMentors and SQUAD( Students on Quest for Unity and Diversity). Also her favorite scripture is Romans 14 8-9;  If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Her career goals are to work for ATF or the FBI one day as a Criminal Investigator. She is proud to be a Member of the Theta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

In December 2008, Ramesha will be graduating and is looking forward at fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a 2nd Grade teacher in Spring of 2009. Throughout her collegiate career, Ramesha has managed to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and is currently a 4 semester recipient of the College of Education Dean’s List. Activities of involvement include Historian for the NAACP as well as Treasurer and End of Year Banquet Chair for the Adopt-A-Heart organization. Ramesha’s ultimate goal in life is to obtain her Doctorate degree in Education Administration where she plans to become a Superintendent and ultimately open her very own Early Childhood learning center. Ramesha believes that “All days are good days, some are just better than others” and “to do what you want to do, you have to do what you have to do!”

Emalee is from Fort Worth, Texas and has been a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated since Spring 2008. Upon graduation she plans to obtain her degree in Public Administration so that she may serve all of mankind through the American political process. Emalee stays busy and active with other organizations on campus such as the Honors Program, Phi Sigma Pi honor fraternity, and Women’s Club Lacrosse. She is a member of Community Christian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. In her free time she enjoys painting, learning and experiencing new things, shopping, and laughing with family and friends.
