The Sam Houston State University Chapter of the American Advertising Federation, Sound Advertising Minds (SAM), has been competing in the National Student Advertising Competition for over 5 years. SAM is a part of the most competitive district in the country. Approximately 20 students from Advertising, Business, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations and Radio/Television comprise the SAM team. Being close to the Houston Area, the chapter works closely with the Houston Advertising Federation. This provides an industry network and the real world experience necessary for entry into the workforce. SAM is working hard to research and develop a campaign for this year's NSAC Sponsor, Toyota Matrix. Past sponsors have included Banc of America Investment Services, Daimler Chrysler, The New York Times, Hallmark, Kodak and Pizza Hut.
