New admission applications will be accepted from Aug 13 - Oct 12, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.
- All documents must be received by the Office of Medical & Allied Health Program in the Lee Drain Building, Suite 201, by October 12, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.
- Incomplete files will NOT be considered for application to the Nursing Program.
- Pre-nursing advisement is handled by the Medical Allied Health Program. They can be reached at 936-294-2300.

Important Vaccination Announcement! Effective January 1, 2012 and by the authority of Texas Senate Bill 1107, documented evidence of having received a Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine is required of all entering students under the age of 30. The meningitis vaccine must also be renewed every 5 years. All current students must also have documented evidence of having received an annual flu vaccine. ________________________________________________________________________________

The SHSU Nursing Program is expanding and is presently located in Academic Building III (AB III) on the SHSU campus. A new state-of-the-art Nursing/Biological Sciences Building is currently under way. The Board of Regents has approved construction of this building as part of SHSU's campus improvement plan.

ABOUT OUR NURSING PROGRAM: The Texas State University Board of Regents of Sam Houston State University (SHSU) approved a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at their November 2008 meeting. In January 2008, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board authorized Sam Houston State University to move forward with the planning phase of a new BSN program. The Nursing program at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) received initial approval from the Texas Board of Nursing on October 21, 2010. The Board of Regents has authorized the Nursing Program to become an official Department of Nursing in the College of Sciences starting Fall 2012.
