Profile of Dr. Ilonka Rus
Transylvanian born pianist, Dr. Ilonka Rus distinguishes herself as an artist of unusual versatility. She has appeared as a recitalist and concert artist with numerous orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout Romania, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and The United States. She has served as a collaborative pianist for the Forth Worth Ballet and for the Texas Christian University in Forth Worth. In the summer of 2008, Dr. Rus gave her Carnegie Hall recital debut in New York.
Dr. Rus received her Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Piano Collaborative and Chamber Music with a minor in Organ, and a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Houston, an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University, a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from the Music Academy in Bucharest, Romania.
Dr. Rus is presently an Assistant Professor of Piano at the Sam Houston University after serving on the music faculty at Bridges Academy of Fine Arts and at the Fay school in Houston.
