Kodály Summer Workshops

Kodály Levels I and II

July 6-17, 2009

Tuition: $695.00 (includes materials)

The Kodály Method is an approach to music education which was developed in Hungary during the mid-twentieth century. Though named after Hungarian composer and educator Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967), the method itself was not created by him. His philosophies of education served as inspiration for the method, which was then developed over a number of years by his associates.

The Kodály Summer Workshops are two weeks of intensive training for professionals who work with children in the music area. The following subjects are taught: Methodology, Solfege, Conducting, and Folk Song Analysis. Other sessions will include Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Recorder Pedagogy, and Early Childhood.

Registration for this class will be taken by Coordinator Kathy Daniel. Please call or email her for help. Lodging information.
