Audition Advantage! Workshop
Sam Houston State University is proud to present its eighth annual Audition Advantage! workshop, helping students who are auditioning for Region and All-state bands. We have two tracks, one for TMEA music (4A and 5A schools), and one for ATSSB music (1A, 2A, and 3A schools), to give all students the attention they need.
General Info
On Saturday, September 12, 2009, starting at 8:00 AM for TMEA and 11:00 AM for ATSSB (full schedule), the winds, brass, percussion faculty of the School of Music will present workshop sessions on the region band audition music. These sessions will allow students to receive individual attention from our accomplished teachers, and will cover everything from beginning practice to final, well-rehearsed performance.
There will be a Showcase Concert by our faculty and guests to inspire attendees and some musical warm-up activities to get everyone involved.
We will also provide free lunch in the Music Building for each student.
What to Bring and Cost
Students need to bring music stands to be used throughout the day. The cost is $25 per student (fee waived for previous All-State students). Registration begins now.
