Summary
Campers will learn individual and ensemble marching percussion techniques from some of the most recognized educators in the state. In addition to instruction on marching percussion, students will have the opportunity to attend afternoon clinics by Dr. John Lane and other guest artists.
Activities
- Instruction on techniques for battery instruments: Snare, Bass, Tenors, Cymbals
- Marching fundamentals
- Cadences, Full Ensemble Music Rehearsals
- Clinics on various aspects of percussion (drumset, multiple percussion, keyboards, etc...)
Auditions
Auditions will be held for placement in ensembles. The auditions will take place after registration (see schedule). The audition is for placement in the ensembles only, ALL ability and experience levels are welcome.
Performance
The final performance will take place at 4:00pm on the last day of camp.
The location will be indicated on the schedule and registration packet.
All campers must perform in the final performance. Camp will conclude at the end of the performance.
Afternoon & Night Activities
Social activities will vary day-to-day and occur in the evenings. Activities may include:
- movie night
- dance night
- visits to the University game room
- other activities as announced
Faculty
The campers are taught by outstanding drumline and percussion instructors from across the state. Each faculty member has experience in training and rehearsing developing musicians.
