General Information for Texas Section Project NExT Fellows

Project NExT is a program sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), which was initiated with a grant from the Exxon Education Foundation, for new and recent graduates with doctorates in the mathematical sciences who are interested in improving the teaching and understanding of undergraduate mathematics. At the national level, Project NExT provides workshops and a faculty network to share ideas and concepts in teaching and assessing college students. The Texas Section of the MAA offers Project NExT regional workshops and a special retreat during the fall semester. Faculty in their first four years of full time teaching at the college/university level are invited to apply to become Texas Section Project NExT Fellows. Fellows will participate in sessions specifically designed for them during the fall meeting, and in sessions designed specially for them at the MAA Section Meeting  in April 2009 at the Univsersity of North Texas in Denton, Texas. For the past four years, the fall meeting has been held at Sam Houston State University in Hunstville, TX. For details on topics covered during recent fall meetings, see Fall 2004 information, Fall 2005 information, Fall 2006 information, or Fall 2007 information.
