Are You Smarter Than This Mathematician?
This is a new game desgned by the MAA for future use at
section meetings. The TUMC has graciously agreed to
test this creation. A student, with four helpful friends,
answers mathematical questions of various levels of
difficulty. If a contestant clears the board, he/she can
opt to go on for one final question which, if answered,
proves the student to be smarter than the mathematician
who madeup the questions. Categories include sequences
and series, famous mathematicians, modern algebra, and
advanced calculus.

Teams from SHSU, UT-Tyler, SFASU, and UTA will
compete against this mathematician.
