Piney Woods Lecture Series
Sponsored by the MAA and the Tensor Foundation

The Piney Woods Lecture Series seeks to invite well-known female mathematicians to the SHSU campus to speak, and therefore provides SHSU graduate and undergraduate students exposure to well-known female mathematicians in a variety of research areas approximately five times per year. The speakers are invited to campus, and asked to present an hour long talk accessible to undergraduate and graduate students.  After the presentation, students have a chance to interact with the speaker during a social event; and several nominated students are invited to attend a private dinner with the speaker, giving them a further opportunity to interact with the speaker, ask questions, and discuss issues of interest to women in mathematics.
