Personal Information

I grew up in a little town called Andover, CT. I received a BA in psychology as well as my BA in mathematics from the University of Connecticut in Storrs in December 1996, and my MS from the University of Oregon in June, 1998. I received my Ph.D. from University of Oregon in June, 2002, having completed a dissertation in the area of low dimensional topology and combinatorial group theory. I moved to Huntsville, TX during the summer of 2002 where I am an Assistant Professor in the department of Mathematics & Statistics at Sam Houston State University.

Hobbies and Fun Stuff

I spend too much time with my sewing machine. I began quilting about 3 years ago. Here are some pictures of completed (or almost completed) quilts. My favorite quilt shop is in Eugene, OR. Check them out online. They offer classes! And fabric by mail!

When living in Eugene, OR I was a semi-active rock climber, mostly at the Crux Rock Gym, where I learned to climb. If you find yourself in the area, check them out - they have lessons!
