CADET TROOP LEADER TRAINING (CTLT)
Only MS III cadets are eligible to attend following successful
completion of Advanced Camp. Cadets spend three to five weeks serving
in an Army unit in a lieutenant's position. The location and type (branch)
of the unit varies widely, to include some assignments in overseas areas.
Volunteers for CTLT can exercise some choice regarding the location and
/ or branch of the unit. CTLT slots are usually made available by units,
which have a lieutenant's position vacant. Typically the unit commander
receives the cadet just as he or she would an incoming new lieutenant.
The cadet is assigned actual tasks and missions (and gets a "practice"
Officer Evaluation Report). As a result, CTLT is usually a very rewarding
experience for a cadet. SMP cadets are not eligible to attend CTLT
