Multicultural Self-Assessment Test
Students are given a self-evaluation form in order to calculate their own multicultural "grade point average". The test is a great indicator of how many students have much to learn when it comes to Multicultural and diversity awareness.
The Wall
Students write stereotypes and slang terms on "bricks" to build a wall of prejudice. After discussing what the wall symbolizes and how each of the stereotypes is untrue, the wall is taken down, brick by brick.
Describing Cultural Identity
This exercise shows how each of us can belong to a number of different cultural identities - whether social, economic, ethnic or otherwise - and all at the same time.
Diversity "Attitude" Assessment
An open group discussion of personal opinions, experiences, and stereotypes held by participants. This presentation opens the lines of communication among students and helps break down the misconceptions among different cultural groups.
We're Havin' a Party
Students attend a "party" and are given a certain character to play. Each character represents a different stereotype/cultural group and students are treated in a given manner depending on how the participants view the stereotype.
