Multicultural Student Services (MSS), established in 1993, provides support for and enhances the Sam Houston State University college experience for all students, although particular attention is given to underrepresented students (based on culture, gender, physical ability, race, religion, and sexual orientation). MSS provides diversity education and cultural programs to college students, faculty, as well as to the residents of Huntsville, Texas and beyond. The office also promotes the academic growth, personal development, and leadership development of all students, especially underrepresented students, at Sam Houston State University through student organization advising and development.
- Provide services and unique programming for traditionally underrepresented populations on campus.
- Educate students to understand what diversity truly means and give students the knowledge and training required to promote social justice in all areas of diversity, including culture, gender, physical ability, race, religion, and sexual orientation.
- Encourage an appreciation for and celebration of diversity in all of its unique forms.
MSS Student Organization Fund Request
The Student Organization Fund is a pool of funds available for use by recognized cultural student organizations. Student Organizations must be registered and active in order to be considered for funds. These funds are not available for travel. To request organizational funding fill out this form and email or return to the Department of Student Activities, LSC 328 with the necessary attachments.
