Medical Early Admission Program (MEAP)

Guadalajara, Mexico

Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in cooperation with the Universidad Autonóma de Guadalajara School of Medicine (UAG) allows students to apply credits earned during medical school to undergraduate college requirements and save a year’s work while earning both a bachelor’s degree and the medical degree (M.D.).

Candidate students must complete a special three-year of undergraduate pre-medical curriculum establishing a minimum 3.3 GPA and an acceptable MCAT score.

Successful students will, at the end of their third year of undergraduate study, be accepted to the UAG Medical School. As the student completes required medical school courses, credit for designated courses will be applied to their SHSU undergraduate degree requirements. The bachelor’s degree is awarded when the student has satisfactorily completed the first year of medical studies.

San Jose, Costa Rica

Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in cooperation with the Universidad de Iberomerica School of Medicine (UNIBE-MD) located in San Jose, the Capital of Costa Rica (Central America). The program allows for admission to the UNIBE Medical School for the selected SHSU students completing a special undergraduate pre-medical program and establishing a minimum 3.3 GPA and an acceptable MCAT score.
