WELCOME

The Southern Demographic Association (SDA) is a scientific and = educational=20 organization, incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of = Virginia. It is=20 comprised of persons with professional interests in demography and = population=20 studies.

SDA's membership includes, but is in no way limited to, demographers = with=20 professional or personal ties to the southern United States. SDA = welcomes and=20 encourages the participation of individuals, and the study of = demographic=20 topics, from any region or country.

SDA holds an annual meeting each fall, usually in October. The SDA = meeting=20 provides a friendly venue for people to present academic and applied = demographic=20 research, to discuss and learn about population issues, and to meet = others with=20 common interests.
