Lirong Liu

     Dr. Lirong Liu is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics and International Business at Sam Houston State University. She joined the department after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a Ph.D. in economics and a M.S. in statistics.

    

     Dr. Liu's research mainly focuses on environmental economics and international trade. Her recently research include the analysis various environmental policies and the impact of Information-Communication Technology (ICT) on international trade. Dr. Liu also serves as an economics specialist in the Institute for the Study of Invasive Species (ISIS). Her current project in the ISIS center is to evaluate the economic impact of the red streaked leafhopper Balclutha rubrostriata.

     Dr. Liu teaches business analysis courses at the undergraduate and the graduate levels. She is also the coordination of the departmental seminar series and the
tutoring lab.
