College is about so much more than just going to class, eating and sleeping. What you do in between all the required stuff can mean the difference between a GREAT college experience and an average one. That's what the Lowman Student Center is all about!
The LSC offers a ballroom, theater, art gallery, several dining options, wireless technology, computer ports for laptops, meeting rooms, and The Kat Klub Entertainment Center. At the Information Center, students can check out loan equipment and as well as pick up free brochures, class schedules, campus maps and The Houstonian newspaper. The facility also houses Barnes & Noble's University Bookstore, ARAMARK Classic Fare Catering, the Vice President of Student Services Office, Associate Vice President of Student Services/Dean of Students' Office, Bearkat OneCard Office, Student Activities, Program Council, Lowman Student Center Office and Student Government Association.
The mission of the Lowman Student Center is to provide an environment where students, faculty, staff and guests can gather to participate and learn through experience and to create an atmosphere that fosters a sense of community.
Goals:
1. Provide high quality facilities and services in support of the university's mission. (VPSS Goal 1)
2. Encourage student participation in programs and events held in the student center. (VPSS Goal 3)
Goal 1 is measured using the in house satisfaction survey.
Goal 2 is measured with program data and reflected in the Performance Indicators.
