The deadline for submitting an application has passed.
The grant is for 40 students to attend Sam Houston State University to obtain a Masters of Library Science. Students chosen as recipients of grant funds will receive tuition to complete the 36 hour course of study, textbooks, laptop computers to aid in completing the coursework, e-book readers, and paid travel to the American Library Association Conference, the Texas Library Association Conference, and the SHSU Department of Library Science Children's Book Festival and Young Adult Conference.
Applicants must be located in Region Service Centers 1, 2, or 20 to qualify for the grant.
After reviewing applications, we will meet with selected candidates for face-to-face interviews with the intention of choosing recipients by the end of October, 2009.
Instruction is scheduled to begin in the Spring semester of 2010 and be completed by August, 2011.
