The intent of this page is to give librarians an opportunity to spread their wings and get started on a flight into cyberspace. I have listed only a few links. These links will carry you deep into cyberspace. I will update this page with different links on a regular basis. Check back often.

I have been looking for this site for months. It is like one giant reference work. Check it out at The Library Spot.
The American Library Association Intellectual Freedom Committee has a final draft of the revised Intellectual Freedom Statement. The title is LIBRARIES: AN AMERICAN VALUE. It can be found at Intellectual Freedom Statement. Check it out. The Committee wants your reaction to this final statement.

Equal access to library resources for all Texans. Beyond interlibrary loan, there are three separate statewide programs, funded by three separate state agencies, to support resources sharing for school, public and academic libraries. Check them out. Texas Library Connection (TLC) a project for school libraries. Texas State Electronic Library a project of the State Library and Archives Commission. Texshare provides access to commercial online indexes and databases.

You MUST visit this site if you are a school librarian. It is a link that is full of wonderful other links for school librarians. Take a look at THE LION.
I have been looking for a good reason to use the Dewey Decimal Classification System to organize the Web. Well, take a look at this site and you too will be convinced. Read especially Mr. Mundie's essay on why he chose Dewey, click on the word organized on CyberDewey page. CyberDewey.
Here is another site you will find interesting. It is prepared by an 12 year old and the purpose is to help other kids with homework. B. J. Pinchback's Homework Helper.
Everyone likes something free. Well, I have a Web site for you. Take a look at The Jumbo!. It has more that 100,000+ freeware and shareware programs available for downloading. This online clearninghouse includes games(3000+ of them), desktop publishing, education, hobbies, kidsfun, multimedia, business applications, programming tools, Jave applets, Internet and PC utilities, and upgrades from IBM, Microsoft, and Apple.

Another interesting Web Site that may be of interest to you or your studentsThe White Pages Phone Directory. It is a database of more than 90 million names and addresses. You can even send E-mail to registered users.
The Internet Advocate is excellent source for information for those involved in serving school libraries. I like the information on AUPs (acceptable use policies).
School Library Hotspots is another excellent Web Site for you to check.
