The AUP defines wgat constitutes appropriate and inappropriate Internet use in libraries and other information-providing institutions. In school settings, it should address how student access will be monitored, who is responsible for student behavior, school staff member restrictions and responsibilities, and student and parent responsibilities. As noted by FutureKids, Inc., many schools choose to develop a student conditions-of-use contract outlining the responsibilities of students, parents and the school system. This contract - which is sent to families for perusal - includes the AUP and is signed by both the student and parent.
