Brief Bio

Isabel Ruiz is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the College of Business at Sam Houston State University. Her research interests include international economics, financial econometrics and economic development. In these fields her emphasis is on exchange rates, time-series modeling of financial data, international capital flows (remittances and foreign direct investment) and international migration. She is also interested in the study of financial systems and economic development in emerging markets with a special emphasis on Latin America.
