An international nonprofit organization with excellent information on health risks, geographic distribution of diseases, malaria prevention, and other region-specific knowledge and on English-speaking medical care givers around the world. There is no fee to join, but donations are welcome.
THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT IDENTITY CARD
Available in the United States, carries minimal but useful insurance coverage, and can help you get discounts on transportation and housing and gain access to emergency and other helpful travel information. Some colleges and universities have STA branch offices on their campuses.
