| PROGRAM OVERVIEW |
Students will spend six hours per day, five days a week in a clinical setting with children. Hours will be split between an acute carer children’s hospital, out patient clinics, and a Nicaraguan refugee camp (La Carpio). In addition to the nursing clinicals, trips will be arranged on one weekend day where students will see the rainforest flora and fauna and volcanos, experience river trips and shopping, and visit beaches for swimming and surfing. Students will live in private family homes wehre they can gain a true sense of the culture, family life, and food from Costa Rica. The students will have completed the didactic portion of this course during the spring semester and will earn an incomplete at the end of spring semester. |

| STUDENT REQUIREMENTS |
| Students will need to have completed the didactic portion of NURS 4420 during the spring of 2013 with a C or better average. No visa is needed for this trip. |
| HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS |
| All arrangements will be made by UNIBE. Students will stay with host families in Costa Rica. |
| TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS |
| Students will be responsible for purchasing their own tickets on a group flight specified by the faculty leader. |

Not Included: Tuition (Approx. $1100 for each 3 hour course), airfare, spending money |
